Direct 4,5 or 6 speed engine.

Previous owner said this have 5 gears. But what type is is old van veen, florett? It was raced in 1970 here in Poland.

It looks like a poorly preserved, van veen factory racer replica, only badly copied.

Rotary inlet, I see some spare rotary discs, a rusty cilinder barrel, and a watercooled cilinderset which looks interesting. Could you make a close up picture of the watercooled cilinder ?

Actually yes , he made the frame himself by just having few photos , I can make few photos of this watercooled cylinder tommorow. But the cylinder doesn't fit the bolt spacing on this engine..

Engine type is after ca. 1975.
Before that type their was a indirect gear type.

Judging by the watercooled cilinder and the collection of pistons , the plans with this project where to turn it into an 80cc racer. Only somewhere along the line the old owner made the very wise decision to not play Russian roulette on this homemade piece of engineering and stop torturing this two wheeled wonder ;)

Pistons are for 125cc MTX engine :P He won championships on this " two wheeler wonder" back in the day. Here's picture from the 70's http://i.imgur.com/2zR6NTg.jpg . How much HP this engine could have?

That watercooler is a Italian "Eurocilindro-Faccioli" cilinder ,and it looks faster than it is.
I know them.

On the cylinder there is casting Eurocylindrico , It does have 1 ehx port 2 main transfers and 3 boost ports at back wall of cylinder, but it looks like it's scored by broken ring... Thanks for the info. In future I will assembly it and try to fire it up :D

Bold-space is original. Die other treat is extra made for small Kreidler cylinders.
The engine Number is about 1980
And the cylinder HH is from Hams Hummel a great tuner/rider.

So it looks like this is not the same engine that he have on pictures because they were taken few years before it was even made 0_o .
The parts like pistons , clutch plates ect are easily available to buy nowadays?

Hello guys, I have started a restoration , and disassembled the engine, but I'm having problem with taking off the gearbox out of engine cases, is there any manual on forum for 5 speed engine ?(I have found only 3 and 4 gear). Greetings

Thank You very much, right now crankshaft and cylinder gets repaired. I'm little worried about gearing because 1st gear is rated 3,54 and 2nd is 2,11 which gives almost 41% Rpm drop when changing gear ( in my cause it will be around 5500rpm), Is there available somewhere a lower ratio for 1st gear or should I use big sprocket at back wheel?

Indeed a large rpm drop.
a close ratio 5 speed gear box set is available for racing purpose.

Ok engine is almost ready but I have a question. Before disassembling ,crankshaft had a good 1- 1,5mm of play axial I have noticed that there were some washers on crank but one got lost when crank was sent to repair. My question is what should be the crank outside diameter measured at crankweb faces where the bearing places are resting, also what is the thickness of cases seal? I have found in manual that axial crank play should be 0,05mm , Is there a simple way to get this correct?
