Please help me identify my Kreidler Florett with pictures !
Hello, I am a french guy who is trying to find out more about the motorcycle he just bought.
I tried doing some research but I did not find the answer to my questions.
- I do not know what model I have, is it RS or RM ?
- I do not know the year of the motorcycle.
But, I have pictures!
And, I can tell you that it rides pretty fast, up to 80Km/H
Thank you for any information you can give me

Toch ben ik nog niet overtuigd.
-koplamp en oortjes
-indirect 4v trapperblok
-kleine breitwand .
-Typeplaatje voor de schokbrekers.
Of betreft het hier weer een overjarig actiemodel ?

Re: Please help me identify my Kreidler Florett with picture
Thank you all for helping out !
I will use google translate to understand what you have written in dutch.
I think Caspar is right, the frame must be different from the engine !
I bought the Kreidler with 2 motors, I suspect that the spare one is the original RM french motor ( 40 KM/h ) , and that the installed one comes from another model because it is faster ( 80 KM/h )
Do you know what model does this motor come from ? It can fit a K53/403 frame but has higher performance than original !
Again, thank you for helping me !

Unfortunately I do not have it with me, I am in the south of France for 1 month and the kreidler is in the north.Enzo-tvdzijden schreef:What is the number on the motor?

I will check and tell you as soon as I have the opportunity !
In the end it looks like I have a french RM frame from 1974 mounted with a german RM motor ( 85Km/h ) ?
We will know for sure when i get that motor number.
Is it possible to see the motor number without pulling it out of the frame ?

Re: Please help me identify my Kreidler Florett with picture
Hmm ok well mine has a kick starter also, and on the gear selector I have :
below is gear 1
then gear 0
then gear 2
then gear 3
then gear 4
That qualifies as a 4 gear right ?
Do all 85Km/h motors have 5 gears ? Or is it only german ones ?
Maybe my motor comes from another country than germany !

With pedals is 3 or 4 gears. You have the 4 gear engine. Also in other country's a 85 km/h RS or TM has 5-gearsjwakeford schreef:Hmm ok well mine has a kick starter also, and on the gear selector I have :

Re: Please help me identify my Kreidler Florett with picture
Thank you Enzo !
Ok I will check this when I come back. But maybe I am mistaken and I have 5 gears then ! The speedometer goes up to 120 km/h on the dash,
and I have definitely been well over 50 km/h when test riding it.

Re: Please help me identify my Kreidler Florett with picture
Hi,
I am from Germany.
The motor of your Kreidler is not a RS-motor, so no 85km/h setup.
The RS has minimum 18er carburetor, since 1973 it has a 20er carburetor, and the intake air duct is different from your cylinder, so you could see that you have the small 40km/h setup-cylinder, the 14er carburetor is the right part for the cylinder, the exhaust-pipe is smaller as well (28mm instead of 32mm).
Look at the pic, this is the motor from a 1973er RS with the 20er carburetor, with the right cylinder and intake. The exhaust is not original, it is a VanVeen.
Your motor is for 40km/h, I don't believe that the Kreidler runs real 80km/h (sorry!), perhaps your motor is tuned and it runs real 60km/h ...
Greetings
Carsten

Re: Please help me identify my Kreidler Florett with picture
The engine is probably original. 75 French RM at kreidler-museum
In the Netherlands, you sometimes come across "French" moped cylinders that have a little more power than the standard 2,0 HP Dutch versions. With the typical restrictions to make it run 40 km/h removed or exchanged (chain gears/sprockets, exhaust header pipe, carburetor jets, air filter), they should run around 65 km/h. Add 5 km/h for going slightly downhill, 5 km/h from an optimistic speedometer and another 5 km/h from an optimistic driver, you end up with 65+5+5+5=80 km/h
If the cylinder is tuned a bit by somebody who knew what he was doing (enlarged ports), it may even run a real 80 km/h
