The NC range has long had quality issues. The new range of force-cooled cylinders looks much better than the previous NC cylinders; I tested a 40mm version last year and it runs quite good, as in 80-85kph with an 18mm Bing, stock filter and Jamarcol exhaust. Fugledal does mention that the rear threads in the bar might have broken bolts in them which are covered up. :) The threads must be there and most likely are. In this case, drill them out and tap M8 threads, instead. That is, if you can't save the original M6 threads! ;) I had a seat like that, year...

Oil and grease save money! :P Do the same with your brake cables and nipples, as well. The amount of braking force lost with dry cables/nipples is surprising! As mentioned earlier (kreidler844) a kinked cable causes similair problems. A dry cable will do the same, so lube it up.

Put a dab of grease on the nipple after checking the nipple isn't a tight fit in the arm.
If it's both dry and a tight fit, it'll click and cause more resistance.
Also grease the nipple in the handle.

If the piston is 44mm and the piston skirts are full length (48mm from the edge of the piston crown, I think) it will catch the crank case at Bottom Dead Centre. My initial thought: The 'clutch axle' is moved further away from the middle of the engine, thus moving the cable off-centre from the hole in the rear of the frame. In order to centre the clutch cable, a longer arm is necessary. Otherwise the cable will pull at an angle which strains the cable's end ...
